hey guys, i was wondering if anyone can help me out with this one..

i havent driven my car in a while and after 2 months or so the battery was dead as i tried to start it, i jump started and it worked fine and i have been driving on it but it doesnt seem like the battery holds charge because its happening more often now.. so i decided to change my battery
went to autoparts and got me a Autocraft battery with length of about 9.5 inches (this is what their computer recommended) as i tried to replace it i noticed the original one runs about 3 inches or so longer, i was wondering if its ok to replace it with that one?
and also what would be the best way to do it without having to reset all the codes for it?

you can pretty much ran any size battery you want...hell i run a 5lb lightweight race battery
