First id clean the contacts to the connection of the coolant temp sensor, since its intermittent (i had the same code, and my car didnt wanna start, thats all it took for me) and fix the brake light switch since it isnt intermittent. Then id clear the codes and see what comes back since the connection/short codes are also intermittent, they might not come back.

You need a new Coolant temp sensor, there is an updated part you want, ECS has it. Disregard (clear) the MIL code... sounds like your Engine light is working fine now

i already have a ects from a different time that i thought i needed one.. and i never installed it.. i got it from vw.. so it should be the updated version...

how do i fix the brake switch?

The brake switch is right on the front of the brake pedal arm, youll see it, just pull off the kick panel and youll see it there.

whats r&r'd? if you mean removed and replaced... i did both whith the battery still connected

Yeah, that might be it, maybe not. Did you clear them to see what comes back?
