Default Couple of related problems??

HI All,

I have a 2001 A4, B5 1.8T TIP Quattro with AWM engine.

Recently, when braking hard and coming to a stop, I have been getting a fairly strong smell of oil in the cabin until I drive off again. Never any oil smell other than under this condition.I have been unable to find the source of the problem, so I thought I would ask the experts here if someone could point me in the right direction?

Even more recently, I appear to have developed a fairly massive boost leak. I have tried to find it by looking for damaged hoses, etc. but so far no luck. I can hear the leak when I'm accelerating hard and the car developed a mis-fire and/or stumble at the same time.

There are no codes showing at all and everything else is working as well as can be expected for 165000 miles.

Any help, advice or pointers would be most welcome.

Thanks

you can use a boost leak tester or make one. have someone rev your car for you while you are under the hood looking for a leak, listening feeling, ect...

The turbo can be throwing the oil out and it won't smell until you let off when its sitting and burning. Turbo can be going bad also causing your boot leak.
