It doesnt go in all the way is this a common issue? Pic below. I dont know how to take the part above the radio out that surrounds tge cup holder.

 

Its easy as pie,just take a mini screw driver and pry the cup holder bezel off,be gentle as the clips that hold the bezel in place,tend to not brake off but come off as they are not apart of the bezel,they are just sitting on small plastic nubs,that they just pop off from.(what the hell was Audi thinking )

Even if and when they do come off,you can easily just push them,back onto the numbs,they pop back in place.

Then you can pull the cup holder out enough,to detach the wire,that lights up the cup symbol,on the front of the cup holder.

Then you can get a better look at it and work it back and forth,to see if something is stuck or some spilled soda that is sticky or something fell,behind the cut holder mechanism.
