Default Cut wires on AEB - what are they for?

I found these 2 cut wires in the front driver side of the engine bay of my 1998 A4 B5 1.8T quattro manual AEB. Any idea were they belong?

Thinking back to when I did my timing belt, I recall there being at least two or three sensors in/on/in-front-of the radiator. Do you have an ambient temp sensor clipped to your power steering cooler? is it plugged in? Can you trace the other end of those wires back? Where do they merge back into the rest of the wiring harness?

Looks like they're for your hood switch sensor, seen at the top-right in your first picture. In your last picture (bottom-middle/far right) I see the two connectors that attach to the hood switch, with no wires sticking out of them.
