i recently attempted replacing the front drivers side axle on my quattro only to find out i had the wrong one.
Is this something i could take into a local shop and get a rebuild on the old one, or would i be better off getting a whole new assembly from the US??(loc in alberta)
The car was making a clicking noise from the drivers side when turning sharp at low speeds

 

Just buy the cv boot kit from audi, ECS or whoever. Remove the knuckle, clean it, regrease it and you should be good to go. The stock axles are very strong.
