Hahaha, just cut the plastic casings off, that's all I did. Wiring them up is super easy... plug and play really.

haha you unscrew them, then slide the ring out from the other side of the wire. Its way less complicated than it looks, they are all keyed connections so you cant really screw up. Wiring it takes 5 minutes, and mounting the balast can take up to like 10.

Well I am skipping the headlamps for today, I did however install the H7 fog lights and I made a installation video which I'll post very shortly and pictures to come in a DIY thread.

I figured it out after thinking about it too, very easy to install. Nice kits really.

Default ddm 55w kit

Hey guys,

I'm new here and was looking to get the 35w slim ballast hid kit for my 2001 a4. I noticed the 35w ballasts are out of stock right now so would it be an issue to get the 55w kit instead? I know they're a little more expensive but the kit already seems like a steal so it doesn't bother me. Also, if I had 6000k bulbs with the 35w ballast, how would the color of the light output change with the 55w ballast? would I need to replace bulbs to maintain the same color as before the 55w kit? Thanks guys.

Steven

You'll have zero issues witht he 55w kit. I've had mine for about 18 months now. The 55w kits will wash out some of the color of the bulbs so 35w 6000k will be a bit bluer than 55w 6000k. I have 4500k now and they're a perfect white.

Since someone else dug this up, I would like to say that DDM recently showed me a little bit of this **** poor service others have experinced. I placed an order for some parts for my younger cousins car and some replacement bulbs for myself back on Sept 12th, it took them till Monday of this week for me to get them. I had called them on the 19th and was told, oh we'll get that right out, should of been shipped already, then I called on the 20th, 29th and was told the same thing I was in the past, I really bitched the 3rd time around, not to mention being put on hold forever.

Finally after the 4th call on the 5th of this month, my lights got shipped. Complete Aholes.

They just lost this customer.

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to order the 35w 6000k kit since the 55w kit is out of stock. Also, having my brother do a local pick up in san diego and ship them to me to hopefully avoid the insane shipping bs.
