Decided to smoke the tail lights on my Avant
So i wanted to do a little to clean up the back end of my A4 so i decided to smoke my tail lights, figured id post a the process in case any other members might be so inclined to try.
So from what i've read many other A4 Avant owners have it much easier when it comes to removing their tail lights. Seems if you don't carpeting in the back of your car its one screw under a tab on the side of the light accessible by lifting the lift gate. Mine wasn't quite so easy.
There are 4 8mm nuts on the back side of each of the tail lights, all but one are relatively easy to access, once those are removed its just two tabs on either side of the light assembly and they pop right out.
I washed both tail lights and went at them with 600 grit sandpaper and wet sanded them until the surface was clean and roughed up enough to ensure that the tint would adhere.
After that i sprayed both of them down with two coats of VHT nite-shades, waiting about 2 hours between coats.
Sorry about the glare on that last pic, guess my camera flash is doing its work to keep my license plate private. I still need to do the final wet sanding with 1600 and 2000 grit then buff to finish, i will post more pics as i finish.

Post more pictures once you're fully done (preferably daytime/daylight pictures).
They should look pretty good on a black B5.
What's next for the car? You should do shaved rear valance/exhaust. Should be clean on the Avant!
