i just got the smoked depo headlights in mail. i bought them for $80 with a scuff on one of the headlights. the scuff seems to be easy to fix, but i have noticed that the whole inside of the headlight is loose. i can open the back where the bulb is and just grab it by the bulb holder and move the whole thing around. even if i tilt the headlight the thing moves. there is some broken white plastic pieces inside of the housing. do you guys think that this could be fixed? since i only paid $80 it wont be a big loss if i **** it up even more lol
edit: after further inspection i have discovered that the adjusters have broke off. there is 2 adjusters on each light and 3 of them have broken off causing the thing to just move around. looks like i might have to remove the lenses in order to fix this, unless i can somehow reach in and apply some glue on the points

is this a common issue with the depo projectors?

 

Yeah, it happens when someone tries to aim them beyond the limit of their adjustability.

 

what do people do to fix this? it happened to me with one of my lights and I just drilled two small holes on the bottom where my hid ballast is, put a piece of strong wire through them and tied the assembly down to aim it.. I twisted the ends of the wire inside the headlight so the more it's twisted, the higher it's aimed. I haven't had any problems after doing it..

 

i need a DIY on how to remove the lenses off of the headlights. there is pieces of plastic flying around in there and i would like to clean that up while fixing the adjusters

 

I had the same issue. I wedged a piece of plastic so the light was aim pretty much all the way up. It is pretty level though. Haven't had an issue.

 

so you guys basically fixed the problem without taking the headlight apart? i could probably glue it all together by accessing the broken connections though the back where the bulbs go.

 

i took some time getting the wiring and the bulbs out of the headlight, and i got the thing all aligned to apply the epoxy. after all it wont be necessary to remove the lenses off of the headlights. all i need is a painting brush, which i have from my old art class hahaha, and some epoxy which i also have )
another question: looks like the guy who sold me the headlights has modified the wiring because there is a round plug, and i though that the one-piece headlights had a square one. i will have some free time on monday so i will try to glue the lights and at least get my fog lights installed and the grille painted with plasti dip.

 

He had those lights on a pre-facelift car, which uses round connectors in the headlights. You can remove the housing wiring from your old headlights and install them in the Depo lights to use in your car.
