I'm not sure if my car is weird but you can't see the DV from the top but if you look underneath its right there

 

Mine is down lower too. They changed it around somewhere between facelift and pre-facelift. A good indicator would be if your DV was silver, polished, metal, anodized, anything other than black plastic. If you're running a 710n the only way to tell it apart from an OEM B5 DV would be the part number. The Audi part number on a 710n ends in.........you guessed it: "710n"

 

It ends with 710, I don't see an n
