DIY Center Console fix (30min, $8)
Bought my a4 with a center console that was in need of some tlc. The leather was torn and some of the plastic was broken where the leather wrapped to. Went down to a local fabric store and got some new black leather that was almost a perfect match. 1/4 yard was $8 and it was time to dismantle the center console.
Step 1:
Remove the Center console by prying one of the hindges and the gently pull. Also remove two screws and phone jack.
Step 2:
Separate the two pieces and expose where the leather is glued/melted on the inside edge. This will take some time and some large flat headed screwdrivers will aid the separation.

Step 3:
Cut and wrap the new leather. I used Gorilla glue as it reacts with leather almost instant.

Step 4:
Reglue to two pieces back together.
DONE!

You could leave it on but it takes a good amount of force to get the two pieces apart and you need to get at it from different angles. Taking it off doesn't take very long either. Thank though, just trying to give back some.
