Default Do a8 / a6 wheels fit on an a4?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a used set of wheels and I seem to be finding more A8 and A6 wheels for sale (vs a4).

Can anyone tell me if they would be compatible on an a4?

In case year/models differ, I have a 1998 A4 3.2Q.

Thanks in advance for your help!

They will. They both are 5x112... Unless the guy says they are off of an A6 and they are really off a TT and then the guy shuts off his phone and leaves u screwed with useless $600 wheels...

thanks for that tip.

Any suggestions on avoiding that situation (other than jacking up car and "trying one on")?

Should I be able to find any marking on wheel somewhere?

THanks

anything with the 5x112 bolt pattern will fit.

Most wheels will tell you offset and size but not usually bolt pattern.

^^^ Didn't even catch that! It's not relevant to the question but still odd!

Thats a good point. Whats the offset on OEM A4 wheels, et35 or some such? Was the offset of the "sport" wheels different than the non-sport?
