Default Do i need a Transmission rebuild?

what advice would you give to me,regarding my 4th gear, not catching but jerking, when trying to shift into that gear?

I had the transmission fliud checked,it turns out,its Full! so that's not the cause of the slippage and jerking,it will shift twice, after a dead stop at a light, then when trying to shift a 3rd time, jerking about 3-4 times, then it RPM will go as high as 4000,while going 20-25 mph won't shift into the next gear.

I never had a shifting issue,i thought if there was a issue with my tranny,it would be noticable over a period of time and not just all of a sudden? just started last week.

I can drive it on the high way, only if i pull in the break down lane, shut off the car, then turn it back on,then it will shift 1st,twice,then jerk a few times, then it'll let me get up between 50-55 mph at around 4000 RPMs,i drive it 40 miles,to springfield, mass from bridgeport,CT there and back, with no problems.

when i hit it with my vag-com it comes up with a few hits,i need to get my laptop and copy n paste it here later, says "4th incorrect gear ratio" and a few other things.

I'll edit this with the info from my vag-com scan, later today. if anyone can give me some suggestions, from what i have posted, thus far, that would be awsome.

I agree looks like a tcu failure based on the "no communication"

Guys, thanks for responding. I got the TMC changed about 5 months ago,it failed,as so the mechanic said,i am still not sure if that was true. I don't think it's the tmc for the simple fact, that it changes once, twice, then jerks.

I am thinking,if it was the TMC,wouldn't it not work at all? and if the tcm was at fault,i don't think it will cause the car to jerk, when trying to shift into 4th gear.

I bought it to AMMco today,i actually have to go pick it up after i type this, they said it's the tranny and it needs to be rebuilt.

I dunno if they are blowing smoke up my *** or not but it sure seems like, that is the issue.

3,000 minimum with the option of a 1 year or 3 year warranty for a extra fee.

I am going to bring it to another place and see if they say the same thing.

you can DIY it or they can do it for you. you can go at least GT28 with that tranny rebuild
