Default Do we do build threads on this forum? Oh well.

So this is my very slow moving "build" thread. check it, yo

Alright, so I've been part of the Audi scene as of this past June. I'm pretty tall, so I've usually favored pickup trucks in the past. However, when I rode in my buddy's A4 1.8T I fell in love. I bought mine. 2001 1.8TQM, Hibiscus. I love her, even though she can be a temperamental little c*nt.

Okay, small ****, I replaced the battery, both front half shafts, new radiator and fan, new serp belts, and I think that's all. Here's the car in the dealer parking lot:

It came with VMaxx Coils which I hated. Too bouncy. I had a friend who really wanted coils, so we swapped. I took his Eibach struts and springs and he took my VMaxx coils. It took about two days total, we had some serious complications, but it was done. I got someDepo Blackout Housing, I love them. 6000K 35 Watt HIDs are in there now, I might put 5000Ks in the highbeams. In August I got some wheels with nearly brand new Nitto Invos on them, nice. $400 for everything. Two weeks later, I hit a bad hole I didn't see and cracked a wheel. Lame. Here are the wheels I had.

I had the tires checks, no broken belts, they were fine. It was just low on air which made the wheel crack. I picked up a set of four RS6 wheels on the cheap ($350). I have the tires on there now, but with no air in them. I am painting them with my uncle soon (he has a nice paint gun, he's a professional painter). We're doing them in gunmetal, I think it'll look nice against the Hibiscus paint.

I recently got a nice OEM RS4 grille for $120 shipped, I think it looks good.

I pulled the rings off the rear and painted them with black chrome paint, now they're a sort of black chrome. I haven't put them on the car yet, but damnit they look pretty sweet. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can.

Okay, now the fun parts.

I ordered a testpipe off eBay for $109.99 after shipping. Solid construction, smooth, quality feeling piece of pipe. Came with the hardware and both gaskets. Then I found a LaBree downpipe for $180, I jumped on that like a bitch in heat.

It is currently loud. Very loud. This is all I have for exhaust at the time being. Just the downpipe. When the turbo spools my seats vibrate lol. I just got this in today, it'll be going on next weekend, I am thoroughly pumped

Yesterday I pulled off my valve cover. I sanded, wet sanded, and polished the **** out of it, and put on my black coil cover I've had for 2 months.

I really like how it came out. When I pull the head off in January, I'll ****** the intake manifold and do the same...

...which brings me to the next part. I have bad valve seals. So, my dad, as a Christmas present, is paying to have my head redone at the machine shop. He lives in Tennessee, I am temporarily moving to Orlando, I have lived there before; I love it there.
I am going to TN before I go to Fl, and we are snatching off the head, and sending it away. When it's gone, down comes the oil pan, out come the rods and pistons. New rod bearings, main bearings, and thrust bearings. And piston rings. I have a friend over at Auto Part International. He got me the rings for cheap (whole set for $61.00), made by Grant, which I have used before and have always liked them. I was going to get new rods, but I don't ever plan on going much bigger than a FT, so I don't see the point in spending the money. I am going to balance them, though.

No, those are not condoms, the ones I use are MUCH larger. Those are my rings.

We're doing my timing belt stuff too. It's due in 10,000 miles, but I'll have it all tore apart anyway, so why NOT do it? Does this seem like a good deal to you guys?

Audi Timing Belt and Water Pump Kit (A4 01 AWM 1.8T)

I am sending away my ECU soon to member Kompressd to have it flashed, he is also coding out the rear o2 sensor, thank you much.

I installed my reverse lights and interior lights from Krauto Parts, owner is on here, his name is Emil, he's an awesome guy to do business with. I'll be keeping you guys updated.

Thanks guy. My front bumper is fucked up, so I'm gonna try to find an OEM S4 bumper. I wouldn't find a replica RS4 bumper, as long as it looks clean.

^^^ hater. Terry, looking forward to hearing how loud the car is lol. Wish you coulda heard Keith's 12v with the exhaust Bill and I have. It'd tie your ***** in a knot. And yeah, other guys do build threads too - search for "timeline" and you'll find them.

Wish I started one way back. Don't have many pics of it in the early days.

I liked the stock headlights, but I wanted something with clear corners. The blackout headlights I find are love or hate. I like them a lot, but many people don't like them at all. Oh well, we all have our own personal taste.

Jeremy, it'll have to be soon. I am having the muffler put on next weekend over at B&D.

Oh, here is a picture of the rings, do you guys recommend any kind of adhesive to put them back on?
