Default Does the ECU use the oil temperature information?

I know the coolant temp is used by the computer and can screw up how your car runs if that sensor is messed up. Is the oil temperature used similarly or does it only show you the temperature on the gauge and nothing else?

P.S. wtf, search, "oil" is too short? Screw you too.

haha ya the search feature needs some refining. i don't think the oil temp sensor is used by the ECU because it's the same sensor as the oil pressure. if you have low oil pressure, your engine will run poorly but you won't be in limp mode. of course auditech79 could give you a direct answer because i'm just guessing lol
