Question Does my 2000 A4 have ESP?

So I know my 2000 doesn't have ESP but I don't know why an ESP light shows in my instrument cluster when I turn on the ignition. It lights for a second with the rest of the symbols but why is it there if I don't have ESP?
Anyone?? I'll lose sleep if I don't find out. Thanks!!

If your car had truly ESP, it would be running before you even got there, because it would anticipate that you were coming...

Also, not 100% sure on this one, but I think only FWD has ESP (and there is a button to turn it off near the fog light buttons).

Pretty sure it does, the cars that had the switch allowed the driver to turn it off. Iirc the only A4s with the esp button were sport 01.5s.

Is the light you are talking about the ! point with the circle arrow around it? If it is I would try to connect a VAG COM to esp and see what happens.

That's the "ASR" button to the right of the rear-foglight button.
