you seem dead set on still driving the car, call AAA and sign up now if you arent already a member. you will need it. that belt, with all probability, will not last months driving 100+ miles a day. if you really dont care if your engine explodes at any random moment while driving it, then keep going.

I thought about that, but doesn't AAA only take you 15mi. or to the nearest mechanic? If it dies when going to/coming from work, I'd have to tow it to my house and then see when I could tow it to the place that I'm having the other motor installed.

The reason I'm getting another motor is because I found out the head needs to be replaced due to a bad heli-coil insert that the previous owner/owner's mechanic had done. The plug for the #2 cylinder can't be changed because the insert is fused to the plug. On top of that, it only screws in about 3 times, so I've got some Lock-tight on that sucker. All in all, I calculated that I can get a used engine with half the miles for the same price as getting a new head. You can say I pretty much got screwed over on this car.

Yeah thats no good. Well it doesn't sound like you're gonna be able to sell the old motor anyway, so i guess just drive it until it either pukes or you have a chance to get the new motor dropped in. Not much else you can do besides park it

AAA wil tow up to 100 miles... but their new policy is they will ONLY tow it to a mechanic shop and not a residence

Believe me, I do lol. I don't shift over 3k rpm, I always let the car warm up before driving it, and I try to accelerate slowly. The thing is, it looks like the teeth are still gripping decently on the cam gear, it's just that the belt seems to have stretched out a bit.

Yep, that's what I thought. I would have to have it at my house until I can make arrangements with the shop. If I'm financially able to get that motor in before time though, That's the first thing I'll do, so that I can avoid having to worry about all this.
