Default Dont know where this goes....

So i have a 01 a4 and it overheated on me. I took the heads off and once of the cylinders was messed up which was probably why it was giving me a misfire before...anyway i ended up finding a used engine and started the swap a while back.

i have it mostly done just this one cable i cant figure out where it goes. it comes straight off the the harness behind the engine under the throttle body. i don't know where it goes i have it above the engine it stretches to the right of the engine right about where the water tank is at or if i move it towards the front it comes out to all the way to the front of the 2nd bank head. i don't know if its suppose to go down instead the cable shield is kind of dry.

the other thing was the end coolant run off bracket. i know it bolts on the support bracket and then above the alternator. is there some spacer that goes between it? i have it setup but it wont reach.

anyway some pics attached let me know if anyone knows where it goes.

Thanks

where does it originate? it looks like Air intake temp sensor but i think thats only a 2 pin connector, it would be on the throttle body intake tube.

Edit- Not for the N80, Just looked at my extra N80 and it has different pins. I'd say it's probably a cam sensor wire like mtroxel said.

I had the problem after a swap once. It looks like the same cable. If its the same one, it plugs in at the block of plugs behind the coolant resevoir, and goes up to the cam position sensor at the front of the pass side head. If I'm right, I believe the plug at the firewall end is green. The entire cable isn't part of the wiring harness, its completely independent. That's what makes it so tough to locate.

I'm wrong. It's bugging me so I went out and looked. The CPS on the pass side is part of the harness. If we're talking about the same cable, I can't follow it on mine without taking apart a lot of stuff. But the firewall end looks like this:

The other end looks like this:

And the whole thing looks like this:
