Door latch cable . . .
A couple of days ago I tried to get out of my car, but the door would not open from the inside. Rolling down the window and using the outside handle worked fine.
The spring on the inside door handle is still taut (I replaced it a few months ago when the spring broke), and my Audi guru has told me it's likely the cable.
Getting to it shouldn't be too hard, as I've been in the door before, so my question is, would the cable be interchangeable between the doors?
I will go to the wrecker's yard in the next day or two, and they have some B5s, so I'd like to know if it would work if they only have a right door cable.
Any thoughts?

Well, it's actually not a cable, it's a rod bent into a hook on the end. I'm not correcting you just to be a ***** (though I'm not above that) but because those rods are the same except for the bend. So you might be able to bend the right side to fit the left side.
But since it's a rod, it seems unlikely that it would just break. I think something else happened inside there and you should take off the door card to find out what it is. Like maybe you didn't get that little clip back on when you did the door handle and the little hook worked itself back off the inside end of the handle.
