Door lock problem, HELP!
That's the plan. I'm hoping it will be the linkage or something rather than the cylinder. I'll let you know how it looks once I get the door off. I just figured I'd ask here and see if this has happened to anyone else before. Thanks!
So after taking the door off and seeing parts at the bottom of the door, I called my local Audi specialist. He said that lock breakages are fairly common and usually run around $175 to fix. He ordered the part and I took the car in when the parts arrived. This was NOT the problem he usually sees. He said that he had never seen a lock come apart like this in 15 years of working on Audi's. The dealership agreed. They all concluded that someone must have tried to break in by hammering with a screwdriver in the lock or something. In any case, the new cost was almost $700. Since it was an attempted break in my insurance is covering it. In any case, it will be nice to get my car back after 3 weeks of down time.
