Door wont open

Also something that has nothing to do with this, my power seat stopped working any ideas?

try getting some needle nose pliers and manually unlocking it... i dont remember if it goes all the way down or not... but try puling the lock up and opening the door

Also from your first post: the driver's door will not lock when open. This is a convenience feature to keep you from locking yourself outta the car. Damn Krauts thought of everything

tried lubing it the lock comes up, but not sure if it does all the way or not looks lower than on the other doors, and I have tried pliers with no luck...any other ideas

had a similier problem but my door opened after i dropped a shoulder from the inside i spent 2 weeks with bp blaster and it got to a somewat better point it is still hard to open and have to slam it shut...my next step is replacing the latch and cutting my losses i suggest you do the same because if the door does come open theres a chance that it wont close or the latch will be bent sooo thats the recommendation i would give and do it all at once....goodluck and let me know your progress

Everything in the world is good now, problem solved it was the lock after playing with it for a little bit it finally popped all the way up. Put some more lube in it works like a champ now. Thanks for all the help

i have a 96 and same issue for the rear drivers door. doesnt open from inside or out, lock issues too..did anyone find a fix for this yet?

Well what I did to get mine open is I put some lube in the lock hole, locked and unlocked it a couple times to get the lube down in there, but had now luck till a couple days later. I was trying it again and when I would unlock it I would try to open it as its unlocking, I think I might have been pulling up on the lock also, but after a couple tries it popped up all the way. Than I put some more lube inside it and now its works like a champ. Hope that helps
