Default Driver information center display

I just bought my car on Saturday. There were two trivial issues that I wasnt going to worry about. But there's so much expertise here!

My Drivers Information Center doesn't display every line. For example I can't read the MPG information. I didn't even know it said MPG except for the owners manual. Its like the display has some bad pixels or something.

Can I get a replacement for this part? Can I install it myself?

Thanks

<sigh> should have searched before posting. sorry.

$600 or more for a new one.
$400+ to have one rebuilt (and you have to send it away, and the car is not drivable until it comes back).

Not worth that much money to me.

Not sure of the work to uninstall/reinstall.
Not sure if there are 2nd hand ones available.

Any cheaper alternatives would be welcome!

Super cheap: tap the button on the bottom of the wiper stalk and turn it off.

Am I one of the few with a fully working DIS?

Mine is still working!

Although I think the ratio is like 2 out of 100.
