Drivers door microswitch

Drivers door microswitch
My 2000 A4 has been showing the "door ajar" symbol again now that it is warmer out. It started last fall, but then went away during the winter months. I know it is the microswitch in the drivers door and I thought it was bad and just needed to be replaced. But today I manually pressed it in with a thin screwdriver several times and it seems to function just fine, so now I am thinking it is an adjustment that needs to be made. Does anyone know how I could go about this? Any suggestions, or am I doomed to drive with the dome lights on from now on?

Yeah thanks! I would pull the fuse but I would still have the annoying chime that doesn't go away fast enough. LOL
Tomorrow I am going to try and pull the rocker on the microswitch out a little and see if that helps.

I'm wondering what the OP tested. It is a microswitch, but it's two switches and it's inside the flipp'n door latch. You can't get to it/them without taking the door apart. I also wonder if he knew there were two switches there.
I had the problem, took out the switch and tried to source it myself. No luck. I bought a whole new latch on eBay and used that.
