Default eBay Engine Mounts

Yeah, go ahead and don't buy them. I bought these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120230309231

The right one lasted two or three days and the left lasted only a couple beyond that. When it was only one bad mount, the seller was willing to do sort of a core-exchange. I pay for another mount and once they receive the old one, they'll refund that money. Kind of annoying, but fair enough. Then I noticed that BOTH were bad and re-emailed the seller. I told them that I'd rather just get a refund for the mounts, send them back and call it even since this isn't a reliable product. They replied that they "sell a tremendous amt. of these Mounts, never had a Complaint thus far.
There must have been something wrong with the car before or the Mounts Must not have been installed properly from the begining." Okay, NO. I'm definitely not playing THAT game with these people. On that ad, it says that I can return them within 30 days for a full refund less shipping, so I proposed that and they sent this:

Sir,

EBAY Return Policy Clearly States..

1. In original Packaging
2. Unused or installed
3. Less Shipping & Handling fees
4. Less EBAY Charges.

In this case there is clearly a Problem with the Car or in the installation.

Best wishes,

Team DP USA
Okay, FINE, ****! I just want this made right! I replied:

Okay, I wasn't aware of those terms, all it says on
the eBay item page is that I have 30 days to return if
I'm not fully satisfied. There is not "clearly a
problem with the car or in the installation." They
were installed properly and the only things wrong with
the car are the leaking engine mounts. If you're not
willing to refund my money outright, please restate
what you ARE willing to do to make this right.

Thank you,
Sine
I think I'm being pretty fair about this and haven't made any threats about smearing them on the forum or leaving them negative feedback, but both are options. We'll see how they respond. Caveat emptor!

Oh, and also...these are advertised as OEM, but they don't have all the same markings as the ones I pulled out and they're made by Hamburg-Technic, which, as far as I can tell, is NOT an OEM supplier. Can this be leverage in trying to resolve this nonsense?

I would bring that up to them as well. and mark it on their feedback for others to know,as well as a negative feedback.

I just got a response from them and they'll exchange them both under the core-exchange deal we'd worked out for the first mount. Well, that's reasonable, but the idea of having to REdo the job makes me very unhappy...the idea of having to do it a third time if the next batch of mounts fails makes my eyes bleed. I can't even morally sell the new mounts when they come in! I guess I'm just going to have to eat the $70 or whatever the mounts cost and get some decent ones if the second set fails.

No...I'm trying to decide how pissed off I want to get about this and whether or not it's worth pushing.

whats the worst that can happen?
I would let them know how upset i am with their shitty product and would like a full refund instead of doin the job again and possibly a third time because of their shitty product.
I push till i get what i want.

This is what I wrote:

Again, I'm sure you can understand my hesitation to reinstall mounts from a maker that has already proved faulty. It's not the car and it wasn't the installer, the mounts just failed. I really want to just have a refund...like I said, I can't keep replacing these and hoping that I get some solid ones! Here are my concerns:

1. You advertise those mounts as being OEM, but they are made by Hamburg-Technic and as far as I can tell, they are NOT an OEM supplier to Audi. Feel free to correct me (and substantiate the correction), otherwise, on that basis alone I feel I am entitled to a refund. The OEM mounts lasted almost a decade.

2. I don't have any reason to think that the next set will be any more reliable, unless the next ones actually ARE from an OEM supplier, which seems unlikely.

3. I read up on eBay's return policy and looked for the terms on eBay and on your personal site that you listed in an earlier email and I could find no such thing. The eBay listing for those mounts states:

"Return policy details: If not satisfied, Return within 30 days for Full refund.Less Shipping Charges."

The only way I could have been dissatisfied by these mounts is if a) they were obviously the wrong ones or b) they failed prematurely. Mine failed prematurely and so I am not satisfied.

I have yet to leave feedback for this item in the hopes that you and I will come to the agreement that I am owed a refund. I think it's reasonable that the refund should be contingent upon the return of your mounts and have no problem agreeing to that. Additionally, I am an established member of a large internet community for other other Audi owners (and potential customers for you) and feel obligated to keep them informed of the resolution of this issue.

Thank you,
Sine

I wouldn't want to be unladylike.
