I am looking to replace 5 out of 8 control arms and the sway bar's in my 99 a4. My mechanic who really seems to know his **** mentioned that often aftermarket products are really unreliable and made cheap. He has installed these products on previous clients and they were back within a year for further replacement do to unreliable cheap parts. I was thinking it may be more cost efficient to order the Meyle control arm kit, then having my mechanic individually order the parts from the dealer...does anyone know if this product is going to be reliable and is even worth installing? ( I want the job done right, so I don't have to worry about bringing my car back in within a year for the same issue)

I think they are a great quality company to buy factory parts from.

 

The fact is your control arms WILL go out again. I don't know much about one lasting more then another but what I did was buy the life time ones from NAPA then when it does go out again its just the cost of labor. Its a very easy job that most should just do themselves if they have a basic mechanical knowledge and basic set of tools. Hardest part is getting the bolt that holds the upper control arms in place out. Well and sometimes popping them out of there seats. I just recommend spraying the **** out them w/ rust penitrant the night before you do it. Many times the bolt that holds the upper control arms to the hub will brake and you will need a hammer and punch to get it out and then just get a new bolt. Then put it in place w/ some anti seize around it so that next time it is much easier to do the job.

ECS is slightly more expensive, but they have everything in one place and its easy to find which is why i like them. ive never needed to deal with them for customer service as ive never had any problems. delivery is about 3-5 days slower on average, compared to other companies. sineo arent you over in europe? obviously international shipping will be longer.

ECS is a good company with a good reputation. I have purchased from them many times. Most recently their slotted rotors and some ceramic pads.
