Edited #2!!!: Buying a 1.8T HELPPP
Please tell me what to look for on a 2001 (170hp) 1.8T 64k miles.
what problems are their?
These are the PROBLEMS ill be LOOKING FOR! (the car is mint)
Turbine noises, no turbo boost
Check engine light on/any light on. abs/airbag
brakes (but she says they were jus done)
tires/tire patterns
clutch (she said it just been done)
leather tear
shocks poping
steering wheel not going straight
dents
no spare
rims rash
cluster not working
wheel bearing noise
radio not working/ speakers broke
Compression test - thanks Chaos
does anyone know if i missed anything to look for?
Update #2:
The car is a 2001 A4 1.8T with 64k miles. i checked the vin # and the last mileage check was in November 21st, 2005 (1 year 4 months and 14 days ago) and the mileage back then was read as 62,000
Is it possible to have that low of milege? 2,000 miles in 1 year and 4 months. or did they roll back an Audi A4 (all electic) cluster? [in my knowledge thats really hard to do]
apperently it was a 54year olds womens weekend driver... how accurate can this be? because if she rolled back its possible to get 70-80k miles per 1 year and 5 months and i wouldnt want a car thats 130k-140k miles for the price of 8,800.
FEEDBACK PLEASE

I woulndt do it. The thing about these cars is that they are really reliable, but once things start going wrong and dont get fixed quick, its like dominoes. And it doesnt look like this person took very good care of the car, and these cars looooveeee being taken care of em. treat em well they will treat you well. dont take acre of em and you will be neck deep in problems

Wait...so are those the problems or are you just listing typical problems to look for? If those are the problems, how much does she want for the car?

the car = mint condition. 64k miles, 5 spd, black on black, 170hp, 01 - 8800 hundred bucks, but im gunna prolly lower the price a lil.
