Default Engine cut out

There has been a problem developing in the last 8 or so days that is basically making the car undriveable.

It all started with a single ~.5 second engine cutout. Thought it was pretty weird. The next day I get the same on the way home from work, this time ECS light's up. Then it vanishes for a day or two. Intermittent cutouts here and there, making me very nervous.

I have also started "stalling" from starts. Car retarts with much hesitance, then keeps the ECS on.

Today I'm on the highway and the tach hit's zero, all power still on in the car, a couple seconds later, I key off, key on, and she's right back cruising.

I have a CEL it was scanned recently, needs an 02. I know an o2 will not cause this. Also, there is NO misfire, only cutout, flat out, flat on. I've stalked this place for quite a while, searched, but to no avail. I know there are recalls on the coil pacs, but this doesn't seem like that at all.

I would love to get a VAG COM scan! Anyone in Elmira/corning, NY area have one?

Sorry for the long post, but she's my daily driver, and I want as much detail as possible.

any mechanic can scan it. I've taken it to Advanced Auto Parts, and the teenagers have been happy to scan it for me.

From my own experience, I know that the code P0322 does not turn on the CEL, but it does leave its sign behind. Also, it does temporarily set the EPC light on. (but only for one trip, then the epc goes out again).

The good news is that I'm told its a $50 part -(I don't know how much the labor is).

If you have a different engine code, then you have a different problem.

i dunno man, that sounds like a fueling problem to me. any idea when your fuel filter was last changed, or what kinda shape its in?

Haupt, What is this part that the code gave you info about?

CCA, I'm wondering if it's a fuel problem, but it is a VERY fast cut out, then instant kick back on. ECM lights, then next time I restart they vanish. No clue about the time length of the filter, but it's a 0/I problem, not a ramp up to failure kind of deal. This make any sense?

PLEASE keep it coming, I'm gonna try to limp it home, otherwise i'll be looking on my blackberry on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck!
