Default what size tires would i need...?

im lookin at the rs4 reps on ebay... their 18x8.5.... what tires would I need to get for these rims... and would I have any rubbin issues? will I need spacers? its for a 98 a4 with the stock suspension... has anyone bought these before? and if u guys got any pics with them rims on a b5 please post it...

^^^ what he said, 235's will also work but they may lead to rubbing if you ever lower it cause of the addtional width

I have 18x8.5" wheels on my car right now...

originally i had 235/40/18 tires, but wen I went with race springs (2 inch drop), I had a rubbing issue only when bottoming out(which was remedies by rolling my fenders)

but now I have 225/40/18, and rolled fenders and I don't have to worry about a thing with my 2" drop

these are my 235/40s...my 225's are stretched and not as tall

what size tire would I need for the same rs4 reps from ebay but in a 17x7.5 size?

do u guys think that size would look stupid on my b5 with the stock suspension ?


their going to be my winter rims eventually... im just tryin to save some money for now but I still want it to look good...

225/45R17 is what I was running on mine. They look fine at stock ride height, but like with most wheels, they look better when the car is lowered.

Agreed. I have 235-45-17 tires on my 17" wheels, and the rolling diameter is very close to that of the OEM 16" wheels, which is good for maintaining calibration of the speedometer and odometer. If you want to play around with tire sizing to find the closest match to your car's OEM size (to maintain the accuracy of speedo etc) go here and play with different tire sizes:

hmmm... now im trying to decide which ones to choose... 18x8.5 or 17x7.5.... the prices are only 66 dollar difference... what would you guys recomend me to do?

i just found some rims and tires on tirerack for 716 shipped...

their 17x8 and they kinda remind me of the s4 rims... what do you guys think?
