Default Engine Temp Gauge

Hey guys, got a quick question for you...

My Engine Temperature Gauge was not working so I bought a new sensor (the correct one) from ECS, replaced it as I finished up flushing my coolant, but alas my gauge is still not working.

Sometimes it kicks in when I start up the car, but it then it just slowly drops until it goes back to zero, also, sometimes it kicks in mid-drive, goes up to the halfway mark (where it should be) stays there for a few minutes, and ultimately dies back down. However, that is rare and most of the time the gauge is just dead.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I did, they looked pretty clean. Any other suggestions? This is really baffling me.
