Here in Europe the plates are riveted on...basically drill a hole right through the plate and bumper, and pop the rivet. Easy, and will not back out like a screw, and deters theft. If you want a more finished look, get the button-caps which go behind the rivet head, and snap on to cover it up after the rivet is installed.

I used magnets for my front plate since the commy state of NJ requires a front plate. If you go this route, you need to take the bumper off, but you won't have to drill any holes.

I bought some 3M mounting tape. Basically double sided sticky silly putty on a roll. Waste of money. Threw the plate on in the home depot parking lot and drove around a bit but I could swear I heard it unsticking. Didn't trust it at all, and peeled it all off again. It may work better attaching the center of the plate, on the flattest part of the bumper, but not at the top or bottom where I focused the tape. I do believe I'm going to commit and drill some holes. One on each corner as I have four screws. If it needs two more I can pick some up. What kind of bit should I use? I've got lots of wood screws, but I know the USDM plate taps all the way to bumper rebar. Not sure how wood screws would fair against the steel. Would it be good to just roll down to a body shop and ask if they'd pretty please throw four holes in the bumper for free?

No, no need for a grille currently. Can't tell in the picture, (nor in broad daylight luckily), but I have a few nice dents/creases in the hood from my recent accident. The latch has been bent a bit, and I need to do some heating and modifying. If I put the grille on, the release can't pop out and I have to get out the screwdriver and break into the car lol. So for now, its ghetto style. Lol, with the radiator only (no A/C condenser here sir) it looks like some custom chrome grille.
