Default euro plates

so im looking into gettin some euro plates for my car and im wondering if any one has had problems with police pulling you over with them cuz in illinois i guess you have to have state front and back plates and my dad said its aginst the law but the chances of a cop pullin me over for that is slim to none i was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with it and could point me to a good place to get the plate

What part of IL? Dude cops around these parts are ********. IL has got to have some of the toughest traffic laws. Enjoy getting shafted. (No I haven't ran one yet, I'm scurred) Couple Jetta's and Mini's I've seen have swapped it back, guessing they got a ticket for it. The only vehicles I think that can get away with it are OOOLD euro's, like Land Rovers, diesel Benz's and such....

I live in VA and we have to have from and back plates here too. I DO know that if you use a euro plate in place of your front state plate, you WILL get pulled over and ticketed.

That said, if you absolutely want a euro plate I don't think there's anything illegal about having the euro plate IN ADDITION to the state plate, but that'd just look funny.

Just throwing out an idea if you really want a euro plate. Get the license plate number from the back of the car and get the euro plate on the front of the car as the same number/letter combination. First go down to the courthouse and see if that's okay don't wanna waste money mirite?

Lut3s, that's not sufficient. In states that require front and rear license plates you NEED state issued plates. It doesn't matter if you get the same letter/number combo its still illegal.

Thats a good idea but there's gotta be something illegal about that lol. The government isn't that cooperative. If, however, it does work... Sign me up! hahah
