hey, I've been pretty busy....stopped buy an exhaust shop on the weekend while a friend had some work done. The shop will definetly install whatever I bring to them and do a quality job. I've realized what you all have been saying about going with smaller piping because I just realized that I overlooked a major aspect...even though I intend on going with the pes g2 the 3" piping is still a bit excessive because the sc won't be running off of exhaust like a turbo. So now I am thinking I may just go with 2.5 piping, but the question now is whether or not there will be any meaningful gains from overhauling everything to be replaced with piping only a quarter inch larger.

'hiwords'...what am I looking at ($) to build a custom manifold?? I take it its not good practice to buy a 1.8 downpipe and get it attached to the existing manifold eh...? Do you know where I could find an image of the 2.8 downpipe (stock or otherwise). Are there really no performance downpipes for the 2.8?? Think it would be hard to get one fabricated??

I've been taking in ALL suggestions and may just end up replacing the flex pipe and installing the magnaflow with everything stock...but this is not what I would want; It just doesn't feel right slapping on a magnaflow but leaving everything the same...its as if everything was done for the sound.

 

how do I go about getting an exhaust manifold fabricated? I assume they'll need to remove the existing one to work out prototype/size and fit...? I'm just throwing out ideas here and brainstorming....not to sure what type of job I'm dealing with. Would a fabrication be labour intensive or expensive?? $$??
