I have a 97 1.8t FWD that is now my toy. Its just a pure joy to drive. Im curious as to what kind of exhaust choices there are out there so I thought Id ask you guys what you think, recommend, or are running on your A4s. I do like Borla. What kind of muffler configuration do these cars have? Looking to get a better sound without turning my piggy bank into bacon lol

 

Didn't like the stock tailpipes. Or tips, if you could call them that. So I bought 2 chromed tips from a NAPA store and welded them on.

 

Hey man! I have an 01 a4 1.8Tqm, and just recently installed a cat back exhaust with a vibrant 1148 muffler and it sounds great imo. Here is a short not very good quality clip of a rev test I did. Let me know your thoughts, or if you have any questions! :P

I bought the vibrant muffler from amazon, and had it put on wit a cat back at my local exhaust shop.

 

What do you meant you had to put it on with a catback?

 

He had the shop build the piping and weld it all up. I did the same on my 99 30v. Gave them the muffler and resonator and they built the piping and put it all together. Grand total on everything was around $330. Compare that to a purchased system for $1000+ and it's the way to go.

 

Whats the diameter of piping they used?
