exhuast backpressure
getting an exhaust installed sometime soonand was talking to this lady in this euromotorsport garage close to where i live. I told her i was looking to install a magnaflow muffler and take out the resonator. She replied with saying that it will actually decrease my horsepower due to backpressure. was wondering if this is true and what i can do other than a full cat-back system?
thanks
thanks
If your B5 A4 is a 2.8, then don't worry.A lot of guys here have taken out the resonator, and it will be louder.
If your B5 A4 is a 1.8T, then don't worry. This has also been done on 1.8Ts, and generally speaking, the less backpressure the better on a turbo car.

see thats what i thought. alright cool, thanks man. i think i am going to run 2.5" back from the cats to a magnaflow muffler. hopefully its not too loud but i figured i can always put a resonator back in.
