Ignition Coil Failure - 2001 A4
Just changed the cylinder #1 coil pack in the '01 1.8T a4.
Going to work in the morning and sudenly the car was running like sh*t. No power and bad shakes. Lonly about 1-2 miles to get back home...
Easy job and the descriptions of the symptoms and flashing ECL light kind of pointed the way to the cause...
The coils had been changed in '03 at the dealer during the recall - probably around 36k miles.
Six years later one of them goes (around 110K miles)
Do these things go "like light bulbs" - and fail after 6 years or so?
Should I buy a "spare"?
Thanks for your feedback.
