Default fender removal

well i hit a deer last week and i was gonna try to pop out the dent as best i could until i can find a replacement silver around the twin cities

i know its not going to be perfect by any means but i bet i can atleast make it look better than it does right now.

anyone removed just their fender before? its really snowy here right now so i havent had time to go look it over to see what im all going to have to do

that being said im going to be going to a shop tonight to work on it in the heat, but i dont want to fart around for an hour just to take it off

any recommendations from people who have done this before?

thanks a lot

Once you lift up the hood, there are torx head bolts ( I can't remember exactly how many) at the top of the quarter panel, take those out, then take the bolt out behind the hinge when you open the drivers door. You'll then need to take the fender well lose...the fender should pull out then. Keep in mind, you may be able to "pop" the dent out without taking the fender lose by simply removing the fender well and reaching up and pushing out...may be easier to take the wheel off

Unlikely it will pop back if it's on an edge like that. Unfortunately, a dent guy wont even touch that. And for the record, from the impact, it looks like the deer hit YOU!

i agree with everything tweaked said. i personally think you'd be better off trying to do it while leaving the fender on there so it stays still when you're doing stuff. just take the wheel off and the fender liner off. good luck man

yeah he kinda did... i did a good job avoiding it, but deer run pretty damn fast lol we kinda collided together moreso than me hitting it, ha but yeah im not planning on making it a permenant fix, just probably until spring / summer or as soon as i can find one (i live close to A&P and they dont have any in silver right now so im waiting on that i guess) thanks for the help though ill just take off the wheel and what not try to pop out as best i can

You missed a hand full of other bolts that hold the fender in place, 2 more just below the one in the door jam and 2 more below those that are just under the door. Plus there are around 2 more that hold it to the radiator support and a frame bracket.

BTW quarter panel is the section at the back of the car over the rear wheel.
