So I think I am ready to get back at the tb job. I just have a few last concerns...
1) I have both the cam lock bar and the crank holding pin. I simply want to confirm when is the best time that I should be using/applying the cam locking tool? I believe it is neccessary to use it before I remove the crank hub, but should I also be using it when I am detensioning the tbelt, or remvoing any of the other rollers on the belt?
2) How is the crank holding pin applied?? anyone know where I can find a good pic?
3) Also, through the searches I heard a lot about retightening the bolts to "torque specs". (This may be incredibly stupid) but how can I gauge these specs or where can I get this info? How will I know how much to tighten it?
Lastly,
I thought it might be notable to mention that before I touched anything I have noticed that my crank is already a half cm off of the TDC mark, although the lobes on the cam rocker arms are facing each other and appear to indicate that the cams are at TDC...what might this entail?
any help will be deeply appreciated, esp. from those tech certified. I haven't been getting to many responses recently, but the assistance is highly valued and desperately needed. Thanx to all in advance.

 

dont know if you tryed this but hit the search bar...sooo many people out there who have the same probs and maybe with 10-15 min of searching you will hit it. people on here seem to ignore threads that have "old" information or the same question over and over again (not trying to flame in any shape or form).. good luck!

 

I've been searching for the past week and have read and used all the DIY for tb jobs from the various sites, and also read related posts regarding the cam locking issue. These are just the remaining complications/queries I want to clarify, that weren't quite clear from what I read in everything I searched. I did search b/c I don't want to resurface old issues, but I haven't found any clear info and this job is too important to not be clear about.
