so ive had my car for two weeks.. and just a few quirky noises ive heard make me wanna ask if they are normal and what not..

rolling out of my driveway in 1st gear.. shift around 3k into second.. when i let off of the gas to shift.. i hear a very light, but noticeable rattle.. but it sounds like its from the turbo like it just kinda chings/rattles a little bit.. for only a second.. then complete the shift and accelerate and it goes away.. it only does this in 1st and2nd gear.. nothing from 4th to 5th or 3rd to 4th.. its not obtrusive like something is broken, but its odd to me?

also, when i get on it a little bit.. like 2nd gear and 3rd since those are the only ones that pull.. and i hear my turbo spool around 3k.. and it feels like it pulls in small bursts.. like not a even, solid smooth pull.. but more jagged.. its very slight, theres no noise difference, and i might even be imagining things.. cause when i watch the tach, it rises smooth and even all the way till shift.. but i feel like the pull isnt smooth.. maybe im crazy

and since i just got a used steering rack from them i have to rep.. cause they were awesome.. www.shokan.com.. if youre in the new england area, they are a great source for used parts, esp in our b5's.. ship same day before 3... give them a call if you need a part and see what you can get it for used.. 6month warranty on all used, but they told me its not written in stone, so they will work with you if your part goes shortly after that.. but they test all parts.. its like a giant audi salvage yard, but they buy wrecked cars, take every good part out, test and stock them.. check em out

 

Yeah I kinda had some kind of feeling like that too. I changed my spark plugs and put a N75 Race it feels smoother. I put them in at the same time so I don't know which one made the difference. The N75 is supposed to smooth out boost curve

 

OOOOOOOOO. that sucks. I had EXACTLY the same problems
It was a toasted wastegate. And the turbo had cracks too.
See if you can get some long needle nose pliers on the wastegate rod and see if it is loose.
