Default TO FLUSH OR NOT TO FLUSH? That is the question

I've been thinking about getting my engine thoroughly flushed next oil change.

I've heard flushing only leads to greater oil consumption and even worse, failing parts and seals aswell has increased noise from the engine bay.

Whats the general consensus amongst B5 owners on this forum? I'm curious.

Whats a good flushing solution / product?

I use Seafoam in all my vehicles and have for 10+ years. Works great and I have never noticed any negative side effects.
