Default Forge DV-R

So I made a quick decision to buy a valve on Vortex that I read only a few reviews on and now I am thinking I may not have made the smartest decision...
Anyway, I picked up the Forge DVR Red Race Valve w/ kit for fairly cheap cuz I thought it might be a cool alternative to the 007. I know its diaphragm based and not piston based, but I'm thinking it might be cool. I plan on putting it on and giving it a shot.
Since I am stock, I doubt I will see a difference but I am just curious what people think of this valve?

iirc you will need to put it in backwards as you do with most aftermarket dv's....... also i have never seen anyone run this, but with a cone filter you will hear the dv more.......

what year is your car? reason being if you are i think 00 and up you could diode mod you car and notice some difference, if not look in the classies for a programed ecu and get that itch tunned.... then you will notice it

but most people on here that have forge valves love them....... although most run the 004 or 007

You need to install it like stock. Forge does not like people installing their valve backwards. The downfall on that valve is the diaphram will tear at some point. Forge does offer replacements but im not sure if they still carry them. You will need to send patty@forge on here a message about that one. Forge just did away with them since the 006/7 are much more reliable.

All forges valves are meant to go with pressure on the side and not the bottom. Reason is that it takes less force (spring tension) to keep the valve closed and this leads to a faster response.

Stock left, DV-R right.

diaphragm valves are installed with the pressure coming in the side. piston valves should be installed with the pressure coming in the bottom

We recommend that the 006 and 007 are installed with boost entering the side port. The DVR, when it was still produced, we recommended that it be installed with boost entering the bottom port.

Reasons for this: with the piston valves they make an odd sound if you do it the other way. The diaphragm will last longer with boost entering the bottom.

But they can both be installed either way really, although the opening and closing characteristics will be altered sligthly.

And we still make diaphragms.
