I have an 01 a4 completely stock. How many clicks should I be for stock?

The thing clicks up to around 50 times I think. Better to have it too stiff than too lose. Just make sure it's 20 or more.

Should I do these clicks counterclockwise from all the way in?

Righty tighty lefty loosey. Release all tension and then add. So turn it all the way counter clockwise until it stops, and then 20-30 clicks clockwise.
