look's in good condition but if you want performance go with the 1.8T you will be able to do more thing's with it and make more power. If your looking for the look and style this car look's good some low some rim's and a straight pipe and it will sound amazing lol good luck.

Find out when the timing belt (including the hydraulic tensioner and water pump) was replaced. It says the thermostat was replaced which would/should have been done at the same time as the timing belt.

A dealership may charge from $1000-1800 to replace that, unless you can find someone cheaper. Audi's are more expensive to maintain, but searching the forums to trouble shoot, and asking where to buy parts can save you a lot of money. You'll save even more if you're willing to do work yourself if one of the forum members is willing to lend a hand. Just keep the extra luxury cost in mind. Many of us spend more time looking to mod instead of cutting out the Check Engine Light. If it's not one issue, it's another. Once you add one mod, 5 other important things break. An Audi is as good if it's been maintained and they are a joy to drive. Hope that hasn't turned you away. That looks to be a decent deal, but maybe on the expensive side for that mileage and it being a 12 VALVE. You could probably talk him down to $4,000 even

@Skythe

Thank you, I posted for this exact reason. Thank you for your input, I'll be sure to ask about the timing belt. Thank you.

I bought my car, which is a '96 and had a 153k on it for $3950. The body had a couple things wrong with it but other than that it was minty. Talk this guy down to 4k for sure. It looks to be in very good condition for the year, just prepare yourself for the modding bug. It's addicting and your bank account will hate you.

Good luck and welcome to the club.

Yeah yeah haha obviously 12 valve, I'm still a noob but that was bad. I also couldn't remember which one is the important one...I think it's the water pump.
