Default ****.

Alright guys, listen up. I replaced my dead sunroof motor today with a working one, obviously. Here's my dilemma. The motor itself works, however all it did was push my sunroof into the open position (about 3/4 of the way open i'd say) and then it didn't do anything else. Everytime I switch it, the motor runs but the sunroof doesn't go anywhere. Key in the door? Doesn't even turn the motor on. What the **** is the problem?

I'm going to check the fuses as Krip suggested, and clean out anything that might be in the way, which is nothing because I already checked.

I don't have any advice, but I do vote this to be the Best Thread Title of the Year.

This^ EPIC thread title. So simple, it begs the question why no one else had thought of it.

Perhaps you should remove the motor and verify if it actually...turns..?
Then try to use something to manually crank the sunroof to see if something is maybe obstructing its movement. Staring at it won't do you any good.

I don't know anything about the Audi moonroof yet, but I do know with a Mercedes Benz with a simular style roof had an adjustment wheel that allowed you "key" the motor to the center position (closed completly) and if it wasn't set correctly the roof may not close or open all the way. Maybe Audi has something simular?

cables are trashed most likely. I'm working through the same problem right now but I didn't burn out the motor in the process. Just the teeth are chewed up to nearly being worthless. Just got another motor from a part out. Not looking forward to tearing out the headliner or buying the new cables assembly.
