Default Fuel filter 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro

Factory only?
Or are there other quality units out there?
How often do you change out yours?
Tool needed or better to have a shop do it?
Its location on the A4?
What about fuel additives, you believe in them?
A few questions Eh?
love this site...
Thanks in advance
Rich

The fuel filters you get off www.ecstuning.com or www.germanautoparts.com will work well. Make sure you buy 2 sealing washers. It is located in the rear passenger side wedged up next to the fuel tank. It can be a little bit of a pain to get to the bolt that is holding the strap on. You will need a 8mm triple square allen socket which can be bought from www.germanautoparts.com. There is a good writeup for it on www.audiworld.com under the tech articles for the engine.

Is there a substitute part that will work for this, or do I really need to order the 8mm triple square allen socket?

I just realized that my fuel filter has not been changed in a very long time....maybe never. I can't find any evidence that the dealer changed it.
