so i just got this a4 today and it has a few issues like cruise control isn`t working ,information panel cluster dead ,and fuel gauge is bouncing up and down .
So if anyone knows how to check/fix cruise control on this things please let me know how ,
If anybody knows where i can send the instrument cluster to be repaired center display also please let me know ,
if you know what is the cause for that fuel gauge bouncing i will really appreciate the help,
and another thing the previous owner changed the brakes all around including disks and now that round yellow circle with dotted lines around is on from what i could see on the display at night
and also it keeps telling me that the coolant is low but is not
SO if u know the answer to any of this problems please enlighten me and i will be for ever grateful.

the information center/LCD screen being broken means u have to replace the whole cluster, $1000, however there is a website(of wich i forgot the name) that will replace it and solder in a new one. i think for around $350 and u have to send in ur gauge cluster.
I've also heard u can replace it with a junk yard part but is nearly impossible because u need the exact year and model trans type quattro/fwd etc. (amongst other things?) and hope that it works before you take it home.

as for the coolant being low, are you sure its not the windshield washer fluid? cuz i had the same problem filled it, and it worked fine but later found out a tiny clamp had broke and disconnected a hose that goes to the headlight washers. i got it replaced when i did my oil change for free(but i also got the part from a father/son garage who didn't need it) so i replaced the whole "plug".

 

Fuel gauge is a common issue - search "fuel gauge sending unit" for all the info. Cruise issue is likely the stalk - it's part of the combination switch which is prone to failure.
