Angry fule pump relay or any idea

here i whats up i was driving my 2.8l a4 quatro to work yesterday and for no reason i lost all power in it then it died when i pulled over i heard this rapid clicking noise from the fuse box so i checked all my fuses nothing pulled the under part of the dash apart it was my fuel pump relay so i went to several junk yards and pulled 6 of the same relay from difrent cars every one did the same thing now here is my thing no way would all the relays be bad .would my fuel pump cause the relay to click like that if it was bad

check the cables on the pump for continuity. the pump is probably not getting power. also try powering up the pump manually and see if gas comes out of the feed line on the pump. the pump is under carpet in the trunk on the passenger side
