Default Gas Mileage Issue

Alright so I have a 97 1.8t audi a4 quattro and have been experiencing less than desired gas mileage.

This about a week ago i filled it up with 13.991 gallons filling it competely. Since then i have burnt about half of that and have only gone about 70 miles so basically i have been getting about 10mpg. Granted a large amount of this is city driving but I have heard about people getting 20+mpg pretty easily so this concerns me.

At the moment I know that I have a random misfire cause by faulty coils, as well as a coolant sensor is out. Could these two problems be the root of my poor gas mileage?? Thanks as always

They certainly could be. The CTS (coolant temp sensor) alone can cause poor gas mileage. Misfiring alone can cause poor gas mileage (and reduce performance). You could be running pretty rich right now, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace your primary O2 sensor as well (especially if it's original).
