Giac chip- group buy!
I had AWE answer some of your questions:
1. Assuming the ECU’s do not require removal of a competitors old socketed style or soldered in chips, the turn around is same day. It ships back the day we get it.
2. We are GIAC’s largest dealer, we were their first dealer, and in 2011 we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary. You don’t get this big by having poor aftersale support. However, we need to remember that these older cause will have parts on them that have failed, failing, or about to fail. More often then not we see clients having problems on older cars due to hardware and not software. This same software has been around for years, and on a car that has been WELL maintained, you will have no problems.
Please also note that GIAC does not recommend the following and it can potentially cause issues if they are installed. I have also added common problems areas that are know to cause issues.
1. Non stock spark plugs.
2. Boost controllers either manual or electronic
3. Some short ram CAI’s.
4. Turbo swaps to non K04’s or Chinese made K04’s.
5. Bad MAF’s and N75 valves
6. Bow off valves
7. Boost leaks
8. Torn vacuum lines
9. Bad coilpacks

YES!
What engine do you have? bi-turbo?
You will need a diverter valve. Forge, APR, N57 (Audi TT Diverter)

because everyone just got the ST chip two weeks ago, and giac and st are almost identical files... that is probably why there are few people willing to shell out $300 more than they were just offered for a very very similar chip
+1. You should have waited to organize this til a couple months from now.
