They are more or less the same. I don't know the best way to explain it. I do not recommend a blow off valve.

Depends what kind of money you have. Myself and many other forum members have the Forge 007 or 006, which is about $135. Others Bailey Motorsport, and there are multiple brands, like APR, etc. Forge and Bailey are considered the best, all of them are in that price range. These are metal.

If you want to tune on a budget, for around $60 you can get a TT 710N diverter valve (as in Audi TT). This is an OEM Bosch part, that can be purchased online or at dealership. This is plastic.

Read the noob guide! It's great and has a lot of good information in it. There is a section about BOV and DV. Check it out!

Just another quick thread I made when looking for a DV. I was not interested in the BOV at all. They just make a stupid noise. Some believe they can hurt the performance of the car and don't work properly. Go with a Diverter valve.

Yeah I've read it a couple times. Sometimes the search on the forum or google or vwvortex.com forum with have a lot of helpful information.

For the chip you really only need a DV!

yeah but an unemployed college kid's wallet isn't very deep.....heh. a DV would set me back just enough to keep a chip out of reach till the group buy is over.

Yeah I understand, I'm in a similar position. I went with the Forge because I had the money, but there is nothing wrong with the TT DV 710N. You can get it for $50-$60.

The group buy will be open through the weekend. I'll probably be contacting AWE back on Monday. The offer will be open until then.

...did you hear that...I think it's Santa's sleigh bells. Haha, maybe you'll find a DV early in your stocking.
