Default Giac Chip options

So Im taking my car in to get the ecu flashed with the giac chip. I have been given two options to do it with but im not sure which one is better. this is all they gave me to make a decision:

FILE'S NAME]: Mp_K01_d02P_5barFPR_K0415_OEinj_SPRKV0_8D0907559C. zip
[COMMENT]: Flash U-select K04-15 5Bar FPR flash
[SHORT DESCRIPTION]: Flash U-select K04-15 5Bar FPR flash
[LONG DESCRIPTION]: Flash U-select K04-15 5Bar FPR flash

[FILE'S NAME]: Pc16_D02_02_K0415_FMIC_31lbinj_3barFPR_SPRKV0_8D09 07559C.zip
[REQUIRED HARDWARE]: K04-15
3 Bar FPR (golf 1.8T part is fine)
31 lb. red top injectors
FMIC mandatory (or good after-market SMIC)

And idea which I should get? its for a ko4. and pretty much stock everything else. Im getting a fmic next month so plan on that being in there.

The difference is in the FPR (fuel pressure regulator). You need to use the one for what you have.

The second option is the K04 PC16 file. This tune requires the use of a different Fuel Pump Regulator and slightly larger injectors. Overall it is a more aggressive tune for the K04. If you are already planning on getting the FMIC then it depends on what you want out of your tune. The injectors and FPR wouldn't be that expensive and would give you a little more power and you would be pushing more boost.

I'd wait to get the flash till you have the front mount and some injectors. That way you can do the pc-16 and everything all at once and not have to worry about the down time from getting the upgrade later.

If you can get the 2nd one get that one since it is the stronger tune of the 2.

Well Im scheduled to get the tune friday but I have a decision to make.

I can get the first tune, save up for injectors and fpr and then take it back in for a re-flash of $80.

Or I can find the injectors by this weekend and put them in then.

What happens if I get the pc-16 file on stock fuel? If its really bad like detonation, ill just get the first tune and wait. Im not sure how much the boost is upped and such, so I can't tell for myself. All I know is I hate how slow the car is and I need to get it tuned.

well in this case, if youre not ready to get the pc-16 file, get the regular tune for now,and then get ahold of injectors and FPR, then retune it for 80 bucks.. youre better off having it set right with what you have first, then when youre ready for the rest retune it.. thats just my 2 cents

Well I just found out today I have to get it smogged withing the next month. So im going to get the base tune as that hopefully will pass better. Then after ive saved up ill get everything at the same time.

Still looking for injectors though if anyone has ideas. Not finding very many 3xx cc's for my engine.

Plenty to choose from. There is the RC 310cc injector and the Bosch Red top 310cc injectors.
